Abouttop
Stationary 2 is a digital continuation of Stationary 1, a collection of stories disseminated by word of mouth. Loosely forged as a recess from one’s productive practice, we invite artists, curators, and writers to take stock of and elaborate on their obsessions, fascinations, and influences in the suspended moment offered by this publication.

Speakers: Chinese Art and Indie Culture on Paper: Song Min & Yan You (Jiazazhi Press), Lai Fei & Zhao Mengsha (LEAP Magazine), with curator Samantha Culp
In parallel with the global renaissance in indie publishing, China has seen its own rise of art publications as a vital site of production and discourse. Ranging from critical magazines to indie imprints, artist’s books to zines and comics, it’s a small but eclectic scene that reveals much about the current creative landscape of China, and the diverse contexts of art publishing worldwide.
With guests from photography publisher Jiazazhi Press and China’s first bilingual art magazine LEAP, curator Samantha Culp will lead a conversation about this print ecosystem, its key voices and themes, and current evolution in the face of challenges digital and otherwise.

Spring Workshop, Hong Kong (Map)
On Sunday, April 26, we'll celebrate the last day of Days push off into nights with a screening of Belgian filmmaker Chantal Akerman's News from Home (1977).
The film is an intimate document about Akerman's move to New York City in the 1970s. Her narration of letters she received from her mother in Brussels accompanies drifting shots, everyday street scenes, and people in transit, passing time between connections. Filmed together with cinematographer Babette Mangolte, Akerman's investigation of New York offers viewers the poignant and absorbing experience of watching a newcomer begin to get her bearings in a foreign place.

Days push off into nights is a series of situations that compose a common space of stillness. Evoking a suspended period at the intersection of writing, solitude, and self-reflection, the artworks are born from and point to the necessary recesses often buried in our hurried lives. Pieced together, they form a collection of experiences (eventful and meditative alike) that also mark the passing of time, unfolding inside the exhibition space.
Participating artists:
Olga Chernysheva, Moyra Davey, Elmgreen & Dragset, Cevdet Erek, Lee Kit, Job Koelewijn, Jewyo Rhii, and Magdalen Wong among others.
